The Bob Reynolds New Society Jazz Band will be appearing at the next Oliver
Cromwell Showboat on Saturday, 25th September in Gloucester Docks. Enjoy a delicious three-course
dinner followed by some traditional jazz, blues, and melodies from the New Orleans school of
jazz.
The Band is led by trombone player Bob Reynolds and he’s supported by regulars Mike
Ducker, Badger Williams, John Coad, Brian Hugget and Dave Martin. They play an enormous number of
gigs all around the West Country and audiences in Gloucestershire always enjoy their entertainment.
The band has its roots in playing New Orleans Jazz and they have a wide repertoire of foot-tapping
favourites.
The evening starts when the bar opens at 7.00pm and if it’s warm and dry outside
you can go up to the top deck of the boat to enjoy a drink with the best view in the Docks. From
7.30pm, a delicious 3-course set dinner will be served in the saloon, where there is also a
well-stocked licensed bar to keep you refreshed right through the evening.
After dinner, the lights go down as Bob Reynolds and his band strike up. Sit back
and relish the intimate atmosphere, exquisite vocals and foot-tapping tempo. The live show goes on
through until 11pm. Guests for this Showboat Dinner Dance can be sure of a great evening of food,
drink and entertainment.
Normally these evenings cost a lot more but on this occasion the meal and live show
is priced at only £16.50pp.
This Showboat will be more popular than ever so you will need to book your places
